Descendant of a traditional textile-dyeing family in Kyoto’s Nishijin district, Aiko Moriyama studied computer aesthetics at Kyoto University and ENSBA in Paris. She bridges centuries-old mineral pigment knowledge (natural lapis lazuli, malachite, cinnabar) with custom-coded mathematical shaders, generating digital works rendered in 16K native resolution for museum archival giclée printing.
