Leon Vance-Lemaire
Paris & Lyon, France · Patinated Bronze & Vitrified Basalt Monoliths
“Bronze and volcanic stone are the only physical alphabets capable of surviving the digital collapse of civilization. A sculpture must stand like a mountain.”
Trained in classical sculpture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and apprentice for seven years at historical foundries in the Rhône Valley. Vance-Lemaire creates monumental sculptures characterized by tension between raw, unpolished volcanic basalt and mirror-burnished cast bronze. His works are permanently installed in corporate collections in Paris, Geneva, and London.
