Born in Wrocław and trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Mateo Vane bridges the raw emotionalism of Central European monumentalism with the luminous glazing techniques of Caravaggio and Tintoretto. His large-scale oil canvases utilize exclusively double-primed Claessens Belgian linen, unrefined walnut oils, and natural earth oxides mixed in his studio.
